Prater

The Giant Ferris Wheel of Vienna has been a key landmark since 1897. Its a costly ride at 8.50 euros but well worth the view of the whole city. It has seen many a fire and world war and has been rebuilt a few times. It has been the venue of numerous movies including "The Third Man" and "The Living Daylights".

The Prater itself is an amusement park that opened in 1766. A few YSSPers spent the afternoon and evening trying out the various rides and having a quiet drink in the Beer Garden. The perfect way to end the mammoth sight-seeing tour/walk that covered the whole of Vienna's 1st district.
